Kings Heath Residential Extension

In the summer of 2023, Promabuild delivered a transformational extension for a private client in Kings Heath, Birmingham. The brief was to dramatically improve the ground floor layout of a traditional home by creating a light-filled, modern open-plan space for family living and entertaining—while also adding practical facilities for multi-generational living.

The project involved a single-storey side and rear extension, with major structural works to open up the rear elevation of the property.

• Open-Plan Kitchen, Dining & Living Space
  The new layout centres on a large, contemporary kitchen and dining area with direct access to the garden, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor flow ideal for entertaining and everyday living.
• Downstairs Wet Room & Utility Area
  A fully accessible wet room was incorporated into the design, adding functionality and future-proofing the home for changing needs.
• Dedicated Office / Additional Bedroom
  The extension also includes a private study, which doubles as a guest bedroom—supporting home working and flexible use of space.
• Steel Frame Engineering
  A standout feature of the build was the installation of a bespoke steel frame structure to support the rear of the existing house. This enabled the removal of structural walls and the creation of an expansive open-plan area without compromising on structural integrity.
• Contemporary Finishes & Glazing
  The use of modern materials and wide glazed doors maximises light and enhances the visual connection to the garden.
